The 12th edition of Sound City is shaping up rather nicely indeed. The band responsible for arguable the album of 2018, SHAME head up the latest raft of artists added to the mouth-watering line-up for the May festivities in the Baltic Triangle. A mix of local, national and international names have been unveiled by Sound City HQ as the festival looks to build on 2018s sold out showing.
As well as the London post-punkers, Australian Heavenly recordings treasure CONFIDENCE MAN will also make an appearance. Spearheading a stellar local representation, TEA STREET BAND will be showcasing their latest album Frequency while the likes of BLAENAVON, KING NO ONE and KARM MARNI join headliners Loyle Carner and Mabel who were announced back in November.
Korean surf rockers SAY SUE ME have piqued the interest of the Bido Lito! office and there’ll be many more new artists to discovered in every nook and cranny of the Baltic Triangle over the 3rd-5th May.
Tier three tickets go on sale for the festival today before another announcement is due before proceedings start in May. Last year, a sold out crowd was treated to barn storming sets from the likes of Idles, Stealing Sheep and Black Honey as the festival returned to Liverpool City Centre after a brief stint in the North Docklands.
This years line-up is following on from 2018 with a diverse range of artists representing a melange of genre from across the globe and also providing a platform for Merseyside’s rich pool of talent. Already on the roll call are the likes of PIZZAGIRL, THE SHIPBUILDERS, SPINN and RED RUM CLUB with more to be announced.
Sound City takes place over the weekend of 3rd-5th May, 2019.
