This weekend will see Merseyside’s best rising talent being showcased through computer screens as part of Liverpool Digital Music Festival Rise. The ‘from home’ festival will take place on the 27th and 28th February, and see an array of performers age 18-24 take to the virtual stage to unite in the wake of Covid-19.
The festival will allow artists to access new audiences, develop their professional skills and receive financial benefit to fund their creative development. At a time when emerging artists are struggling to gain paid-for opportunities, the festival’s partnership with National Lottery Community Fund and the Liverpool One Foundation has garnered a small fee for artists on the festival bill to put into their own development.
With fast rising stars such as NATALIE AND THE MONARCHY, AMELIA WALLACE, and MEG SHAW set to perform alongside many more, the festival promises to showcase the ambition, talent and passion of these young creatives and bring Liverpool’s music scene kicking into the future.
Rising is the third iteration of the online festival born out of lockdown with two previous events featuring a myriad of artists from various facets of Liverpool’s music scene drawing much attention in 2020.
