Liverpool One Project: Take Two (Documentary) produced by Culture Deck

10 years ago the original Liverpool ONE project brought together more than a dozen Black music creators to put together a mixtape and showcase event. These outputs were part of a wider project mapping the career trajectory of these artists and the opportunities afforded by the local music infrastructure.

The research, coordinated by URBEATZ and the University of Liverpool, returned that a decade on from the release, only a small number of the artists are still making music.

Take Two asks the question: Is 2021 different? Will artists like PL3Z, GULLY MAN DRED, MC NELSON and NAK get the opportunities and support they need to take their career to the next level?

The project launch event is at District on Thursday 4th November and the album, featuring eight tracks including Passing By, Smokin’ and Ride The Wave, is released on 5th November.
