SOUND CITY have announced their highly-anticipated plans for the 2021 edition following the cancellation of this year’s festivities.

A defining weekend in the Liverpool live music calendar, the festival is set to take place from April 30th – Sunday 2nd May with a whole host of new talent.

As one of the leading champions of new UK music, Sound City offers a 2021 line-up of diverse acts, well-known and emerging. The festival will take place once again across Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle venues.

Next year’s edition sees Irish post-punk band THE MURDER CAPITAL take to the stage, alongside the likes of ABBIE OZARD, THOMAS HEADON and THE K’S. Following on from their appearances at the 2019 edition, indie favourites THE SNUTS and THE LATHUMS have also been announced to return to the Sound City stage.

Having made a return to the music scene earlier this summer, Irish/American hip-hop artist REJJIE SNOW takes Saturday night’s headliner slot, accompanied by local favourites THE MYSTERINES. Adding to the host of local talent, RED RUM CLUB have been unveiled as Sunday’s headliner, accompanied by JAMIE WEBSTER, following his almighty rise to popularity earlier this year.

With Friday’s headliner slot still yet to be revealed, and many more acts to be unveiled, the first host of Sound City announcements paint an alluring picture for the festival’s return. As the UK’s leading festival partner for Keychange, Sound City’s dedication to providing a diverse and equal line-up remains unmatched, and the 2021 line-up offers no less.

The return of the Sound City+ Conference has also been announced. The annual conference takes place alongside the festival each year, bringing together industry figures from all over for a three-day event featuring a range of panels and speakers. Next year’s event will see one of the first opportunities for discussions of what lies ahead for the music and entertainment industries, while also delving into the transformation of the industry in the last 12 months.

Setting the tone for an eventful 2021, the first of the Sound City announcements allows excitement to return to the city, as the return of live music looks set to become a reality.
