As the music community across the city feels the strain of the Covid-19 lockdown, a Liverpool City Region (LCR) Music Industry Support Fund has been announced to help support businesses through the tough times ahead.

A sum total of £150,000, funded by the LCR Combined Authority’s Strategic Investment Fund, has been made available to micro-businesses and SMEs who are directly related to the music sector. Applications of up to £10,000 are open now and will be managed by the UNESCO City of Music Officer and overseen by the LCR Music Board.

As everyone from festivals, studios, rehearsal rooms and promoters are anxiously counting the cost of months of lost revenue, the fund will be of interest to a wide range of businesses throughout Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral.

Details of how to apply are now available on the Culture Liverpool website with guidance on who can apply and what they need to demonstrate in order to be successful. The minimum awarded grant is £1,000 with the maximum award up to £10,000.
